Should the inlet valve for the accident nitrogen compressor be of type FO or FC?

In our unit, the compressor’s inlet valve is operated in an emergency mode; I’ve always thought it should be designed to shut down in such situations
The selection of control valves FO and FC is primarily based on equipment and personal safety; if whether the valve is open or closed causes no harm to the equipment or people, then it doesn’t matter.
