As the title suggests, after the raffinate oil coming out of the extraction tower is washed in a water washing tower, what should be done if this raffinate oil contains a large amount of water? Are there any experiences that can be adjusted? Tech experts, please help!
Before the occurrence of water contamination, there was a fluctuation in the system’s water level; the liquid level in the water stripping tower dropped significantly, while the level in the washing tower decreased to a lesser extent. The level in the reflux tank of the recovery tower also dropped. Suddenly, there was no water left in the system, so efforts were made to replenish it, but the system failed to regain its water level for a long time.
How long has it been since the membrane rod was replaced?
Is the membrane rod the one used in the water washing tower? I didn’t even know such a thing existed. Could you elaborate? I couldn’t find it online either
It is caused by either an excessively high liquid level in the wash tower, an excessive amount of raffinate oil, or too high a gas velocity
The liquid level in the wash tower remains at 50%, while the design standard is 60–80. There should be no problem, but the amount of oil remaining should be somewhat higher; the designed amount is 7.5T, but in reality it’s around 10T. There were no issues before, but these problems have arisen suddenly in recent days. The main symptom is that the liquid levels in each tower keep dropping, and adding water doesn’t help to restore those levels.

The upper circulation volume is too high. Reduce the amount of water used for washing, as long as it ensures the quality of the raffinate oil.
The water volume is high; is the liquid level accurate? Is there a leak in the cooler?
The liquid level is accurate; communication was established between the site and the control room, and although the heat exchanger might be leaking, the liquid level is genuine
The wash tower for raffinate oil and water contains rods for separating oil from water; oil passes through while water does not. If these rods become damaged, they need to be replaced
Reduce the oil circulation rate, lower the level in the wash tower, and reduce the temperature of the raffinate oil to prevent emulsification. Check whether the downcomer is blocked.
