Let’s face it–English is a crazy language. Eggplant (eggplant, literally meaning \"egg plant\") does not contain eggs; hamburgers (hamburger, literally meaning \"ham sandwich\") do not contain ham. Pineapple (pineapple, literally meaning \"pine tree apple\") contains neither pine trees nor apples. English muffins (English muffin, literally meaning \"British muffin\") were not invented by the British, and French fries (French fries, literally meaning \"French fried food\") were not invented by the French. \"Sweetmeat\" refers to preserved fruits, while \"sweetbread\" is not sweet at all – it refers to beef offal.
There’s some truth to that; anyway, I can’t understand English either! Gave up! ;P
Wear as much as you can in the summer! Wear as much as you can in winter!
English only recognizes individual letters. Tragic

When it comes to linguistic creativity, CHINESE is unparalleled; nowadays some pinyin characters are used directly as English words, such as dama – do you know what that is?
