Are there any implementations of advanced control systems for catalytic cracking units? Regarding the soft instrument calculations for the dry point of crude gasoline from catalytic cracking and the 95-octane rating of light diesel, which process variables are involved?; What process variables are related to the soft instrument calculations for the subsequent absorption of stable dry gas C3+ and liquefied gas C2- and C5+?
The dry point of crude gasoline is primarily controlled by the temperature at the top of the distillation tower, while the 95% point of diesel is controlled by the diesel extraction temperature; the subsequent parameters are also mainly regulated using temperature, pressure, and reflux. The difficulty lies in the fact that changes in the reaction materials and conditions lead to variations in the composition of the resulting materials; therefore, even if the temperature remains constant, the dry point of gasoline and the 95% point of diesel will still change
Advanced control for catalytic cracking units, including soft instrument calculations for the dry point of catalytic cracking crude gasoline and the 95-point value for light diesel. These can only be created under normal operating conditions by associating certain variables; under abnormal conditions, it’s not possible to do so. Moreover, our current understanding of such abnormal conditions has not kept up with developments.
