It depends on the acidity level and temperature; common materials include fluorinated lining valves and pipes, carbon steel, as well as fiberglass, stainless steel, and so on.

We have been using carbon steel pipes for transportation, which are generally replaced every four years. The acid storage tanks are also made of carbon steel. Valves lined with PTFE can last longer once in use; in particular, ordinary valves should not be used at the pump inlets and outlets, as their replacement frequency is too high.
Our factory originally used carbon steel pipes (340 meters), and after half a year of use, acid accumulated in the pipes during winter. After solidification and blockage, there was no solution; diesel was poured along the pipeline using straw ropes and then burned, which caused frequent leaks. Later, 304 pipes were used instead, following specifications of 0. Designed with a 3% slope, and a drain valve is installed at the lowest point to direct flow into the sump. No leakage has occurred after 3.5 years of use. The valve is an F4-lined ball valve
The original pipeline design was flawed; it was impossible to drain all the acid along its length. After the plant stopped operating for 5 hours at night, the pipeline became blocked. More than 100 people were mobilized to use walkie-talkies to control the process of setting fires, and pumps were used to force the flow of liquid through the pipeline, despite the temperature being minus 5 degrees. :L
