I used NMP+h2o to simulate the extraction of butane and butene. Theoretically, water should be present together with NMP, but currently all of the water comes out from the top of the catalytic distillation column and the stripping column; I’m not sure why. I used the NRTL equation for this calculation. After trying other UNFIAC equations, it seems that water also exits from the top of the tower. I would appreciate some guidance from those with more experience
