Is it possible to determine the heavy metals in crude oil?
There is a connection, but it’s not a very direct one. I have also not seen a functional relationship between the two.
Almost all of the metal in the catalytic material is deposited on the catalyst, and the metal content in the oil slurry is 5–10 times higher than that in the raw material. Estimate the metal content on the catalyst based on this.
The higher the heavy metal content in the crude oil, the faster the catalyst becomes poisoned and its activity declines; as a result, a larger feeding amount is required, and the catalyst needs to be replaced more frequently. Within certain limits, it is also possible to increase the amount of passivator injected for control purposes
It can be inferred that almost all of the metals in the catalytic material are deposited on the catalyst, while fresh catalysts can be considered free of heavy metals such as nickel, vanadium, and copper; analysis data are available for the contents of iron and sodium. It can be calculated based on the catalyst consumption per unit. Additives require separate consideration.
Have you calculated it? It seems really difficult to estimate, as the amount of catalyst that needs to be replaced is variable
It’s not the amount of displacement, but rather the consumption of the new agent; to be more precise, it’s the unit consumption of the new agent. The unit consumption of the new agent should be relatively stable.
