But it is said that suspension separators tend to clog, and I’m wondering why not use a plate and frame filter? Today’s plate and frame filters can also operate continuously online. As far as I know, the catalyst in the quench water after the acrylonitrile fluidized bed is produced using a plate and frame filter press, with excellent results, and there are almost no particulates in the filtered water. That’s right; the liquid taken out from the bottom of the quench tower contains no gas phase, but it does contain a large number of fine catalyst particles
Currently, MTO units are also equipped with filters on the back side of the suspension separator; similar to plate-and-frame filters, these filters consist of a porous metal core, and during filtration, small solid particles form a filter cake on the inner wall of the filter element – such filters are known as LSI filters.
Why don’t you consider using vacuum evaporation technology? We have already conducted experiments on its application in the recovery process at Sinopec’s DMTO unit, and the results were very good.
