What is the mesh size of the inlet filter for the gas compressor?

Dear experts, our company uses coke oven gas to produce hydrogen. The filter at the gas inlet has a mesh size of 60 mesh. As a result, we have to shut down the equipment on a daily basis due to severe blockage by tar in this 60-mesh screen. Yet the tar content in the gas meets the design specifications. What mesh size do similar facilities use? Furthermore, before entering the filter, there is a pre-purification step to remove impurities from the gas; coke is used for this purpose. Are there any better materials that can be used to adsorb impurities from the gas? Thank you
How about those filled with filler? How about adding two filters at the inlet for alternating use? .
Consider using a mixture of molecular sieve and coke. If a bypass is added, the cost is high, as large valves need to be installed.
