As the title suggests, I’m a beginner and would appreciate some guidance. Regarding the moisture separation equipment used in air separation units, is it necessary to use fiber mist eliminators?
What does the moisture separation equipment mentioned by the poster refer to?
Is the poster referring to the demister at the top of the air-cooled tower?
Hello! I just want to ask whether there are any minimum requirements for the content of moisture or acid mist in the gas after it has been separated Because I found that fiber mist eliminators can effectively remove moisture or acid mist. Please give me some advice!
Yes, I just want to know the structural design of the demister in this section. I’m a beginner; I don’t know whether the defogger in this area is a wire mesh type (a plate-like structure assembled horizontally) or a vertical fiber-based defogger Please give me some advice! Thank you!
In air separation units, mist eliminators should only be installed at the tops of the air-cooled towers and water-cooled towers; I’m not very knowledgeable on this subject, so I really don’t know if mist eliminators are used in other areas as well
Thank you for your reply. The question is, is the type of mist eliminator used in this section a plate-type wire mesh mist eliminator or a vertical fiber glass mist eliminator? Please keep giving me guidance! Thank you!
It is usually in the form of a plate-like stainless steel mesh; there is no need to use glass fiber for this.

First, the reason for choosing a wire mesh mist eliminator is whether it is due to concerns about the high operating pressure of fiber glass mist eliminators, or because the water removal requirements for this process are not very high? Second, considering that the water removal efficiency of wire mesh mist eliminators is very low, whereas that of fiber glass mist eliminators is excellent, exceeding 99.5%. Does it seem a bit like taking a longer route when a shorter one is available? Please explain it to me in detail, thank you!
I really don’t know much about this; I hope someone with more experience can give me some advice
