I have a question for everyone: Is there a more specialized term for valves that come with actuators? What should it be called?
Control valves, including control valves and on/off valves (2-position valves)
The upper part of the valve is called the actuator, while the lower part is called the valve body; together they constitute the valve.
Pneumatic on-off valves, electric on-off valves, pneumatic control valves, electric control valves, and hydraulic on-off valves. I don’t know which one fits what you said.
Any valve has an actuating mechanism, which can be manual or automatic. Manual types use valve handles or handwheels, while automatic types include pneumatic and electric ones; electric types are further divided into electromagnetic and gear-driven types. Automatic types come with a one-time on/off switch and allow control of the opening degree.
