According to the manual, it should be possible to adjust the signal to 4–20MA, but I tried setting the values to 0 and 100; still, it doesn’t work. Why is that? Is there a specific place for adjusting the 4–20 MA signal? I remember that a colleague used a multimeter, setting it to 4 MA at 0 and to 20 MA at 100; however, he couldn’t find a way to zero the gauge. Mine is a meter from Dandong Naineng
If online calibration is used (as disassembly is not feasible), a U-tube should be employed along with water to carry out the adjustment, taking into account the density of the medium. If calibration is to be done during maintenance (for easy disassembly), removing it and using the weight-suspension method is the most accurate, in my opinion. I haven’t calibrated instruments on-site in many years; I only know these two methods. Others are welcome to add.
The conventional water meter calibration method is used quite often; nowadays most meters are smart meters, so it is necessary to follow the instructions for operation.
Simple troubleshooting instructions for UTM smart floats: In the data settings, the “S” key is used to adjust numbers and decimal points, the “Z” key is used for shifting values, and the “M” key is used to save settings. To enter the special data mode, hold down the Z key for 2 seconds – this will bring up 00000. Use the Z key to shift values and the S key to change 00000 into a password, such as 00011. Pressing the Z key will display an arrow icon; pressing the S key will allow access to the information. Eleven items are displayed initially; use the Z key to navigate through the pages. Item 19 represents the lower calibration limit (zero point), item 20 represents the upper calibration limit (range), and item 21 is used for fine adjustment of specific points (moving any point). Pressing the S key brings up the data settings interface, at which point the upper left arrow icon begins to flash. (Indicates that it can be modified.) 2. Press Z to start the flashing; at this point, hold down or press the S key several times in a row to cycle through the numbers from 0 to 9. 3. Press the Z key to sequentially set the second to fifth digits; once set, it’s complete. 4. Press the Z key to start setting the decimal point; once the settings are completed. 5. Press the Z key and the left arrow key will start flashing, indicating that the settings can be saved. Press the S key to save the settings ; Or simply press the M key to save. This is the modification method mentioned in that instructions. I also use the water calibration method. Here’s exactly how I do it: when it’s at position 0, I press the confirm button for the 19th time. Then set the water level to position 100, and press the confirm button for 20 times. Even after making the adjustment, it still doesn’t work; the on-site reading is -10%. In any case, the liquid level doesn’t change. This instrument doesn’t have a separate zero-setting knob. At the site, it’s generally more convenient to use standard water; just be careful with the density conversion. If that doesn’t work, remove it and calibrate it with weights.
