A certain oil tank area is located in the open sea, where salt spray corrosion is severe. Moreover, considering that during a fire scenario the deluge valves might be exposed to seawater for a short period of time, what type of deluge valve should be used to prevent corrosion? ?
I just attended a technical exchange session on rainwater valves; they are available in two materials – for fresh water and seawater – with nickel-aluminum-brass alloy being used for seawater applications. Contains 60-70% nickel, 25-35% copper, and small amounts of iron and manganese.
