Previously, the hardness of the circulating water in our company was always below 100, but this year it has risen to three or four hundred. The circulation volume is 22,000 cubic meters, with a reserve volume of 8,000 cubic meters; there is a side filter in place. Apart from changing the water, are there any good methods to reduce the hardness?
Why change the water? This is an easy issue to address – resin adsorption can be used to reduce hardness, and besides, your level of 300-400 isn’t that high anyway. It’s easy to handle; we can communicate.
It is recommended that you provide a list of the make-up water for your plant’s circulation system as well as a report on the current quality of the circulating water; this way, we can give you some suggestions!

Softeners are available on the market, and the poster can purchase some samples to try out. Generally, this is achieved by adding soda ash; sodium carbonate can be used to soften the water, or ion exchange can be employed. For temporary hardness, chemical agents such as calcium hydroxide or calcium bicarbonate (magnesium bicarbonate) can be added to precipitate it.
It is determined based on the ion composition and concentration in water, to identify whether it is temporary hardness or permanent hardness; this can be addressed by adding different chemicals.
