Answer: Lift the pipette or dropper upward away from the liquid surface, keeping the tip against the inner wall of the container holding the solution; maintain the tube in an upright position. Slightly relax your index finger to allow the solution inside the tube to flow out slowly from the bottom, until the bottom of the meniscus is in contact with the marking. Immediately press the tube opening tightly with your index finger to remove any droplets at the tip, then remove the pipette or dropper and insert it into the container designed to hold the solution.
