Additionally, when installing pipes for heat transfer oil, apart from ensuring that the flow velocity meets the requirements related to flow resistance, are there any other regulations regarding this flow velocity? I’m new to the chemical industry and don’t know much about these things; please forgive my ignorance and offer me as much help as possible. Thank you! :handshake
When the head of the oil pump is converted into a pressure difference, it is done by utilizing the density of the oil.

The density of the heat transfer oil at operating temperature must be taken into account. However, the density at room temperature must also be taken into account, as it is necessary to determine the motor output power required for the heat transfer oil pump. At room temperature, the heat transfer oil has a high density and high viscosity; if the appropriate power level is not selected, the pump will not be able to start.
So can I understand it this way: when converting head into pressure difference, it’s safer to use the density at room temperature? Additionally, what range is appropriate for the flow rate of the heat transfer oil during piping?
The specific flow rate can be found online; it’s around 1–3 M/s.
