Our company is currently installing a new flue gas acid production system, and there are still disagreements regarding the choice of catalyst. I have come specifically to consult with all of you sea friends regarding the use of catalysts in various units. If it’s not convenient to reveal your employer, please provide a brief description of how catalysts are used in your organization. For example: XXXXX Factory, which uses XXXXX catalyst; the operating time after the catalyst was put into use, and the problems encountered. What is known quite well in the early stages are foreign catalysts, such as Mengmoke, Topsoe, BASF, and so on; I would like to know about the catalysts used in various companies among you. Please avoid critical comments based on color; just explain the situation, as after all, everyone’s equipment and operating conditions vary. I just want to know, thank you!

Since the plant was established in 1995, the acid production system using flue gas from fluidized bed roasting has initially used Seisinko catalysts, but has since used Kaifeng catalysts. From columnar to plum-shaped, and then back to columnar catalysts – quite good. Of course, the choice of catalyst is related to your acid production process; domestic catalysts offer cost advantages, while imported catalysts have their own **** advantages. For large-scale single systems, imported products are used more often, while domestically produced products are primarily used for small and medium-scale systems. There are only a few domestic manufacturers; smaller catalyst factories can be ignored
:) Are there any examples of the use of imported catalysts? I have visited some factories for inspections and made comparisons, and found that the performance of catalysts from the same manufacturer varies. Of course, there are many factors at play, and many of these are not due to quality issues with the catalysts themselves.
We produce sulfuric acid using the 3+2 two-turn two-absorption process; Mengmoke supplies the catalysts, with models XLP-220, XLP-110, and SCX-2000. So far, no problems have occurred with them, but their price is high!
Some salespeople from small companies only have basic knowledge of catalysts and are completely unable to provide guidance on filling procedures; everyone should be aware of this.

Our plant produces sulfuric acid on a scale of 200,000 tons per year, using a 3+2 process; it was put into operation in 2010, and Nan Changcheng catalysts from Tongren, Guizhou, are used there. Due to its own sulfur filtering mechanism, its performance is not very good
Mainly due to excessive dust entry, a crust forms on the surface; over half a year, the resistance increases from 2 KPa to 7 KPa.
Resistance should be taken into account as well, so that manufacturers can determine the pressure drop in each section; it is advisable to assume a higher value for resistance, as this helps improve the conversion rate.
