Let’s talk about other differences besides viscosity, which vary depending on the lubricant grade – for example, what are the differences between 32 and 46?

Viscosity is just one indicator; there are many other parameters such as flash point, ignition point, acid value, freezing point, and so on!
For lubricants of the same brand and type, if only the viscosity grade differs, it is mainly due to variations in viscosity. Equipment that operates at high speeds requires lubricants with low viscosity, while equipment that operates at low speeds under heavy loads needs lubricants with high viscosity
For the same brand, the only difference is the viscosity; all other specifications are essentially identical. But it’s hard to compare different brands. There’s also synthetic oil, but that will be much more expensive. Mineral oil is generally used.
