Hello, fellow sailors! I’m a newbie to hydrogen reforming units! Which injection points should be controlled under normal circumstances? How should water injection volume and injection efficiency be controlled and monitored? Could you give some advice, just a bit? Thank you in advance!
Our unit has two water injection points: the first is located after the heat exchanger for the reaction oil and feed oil (in the tube side), and the second is the water injection point before air cooling (the main water injection point). The amount of water injected is approximately 2-5% of the feed volume. The effectiveness of water injection can be assessed by taking samples of the high-pressure liquid water for testing and analysis. I hope this helps you. . .
I forgot to mention that after the heat exchanger for the reaction oil and the feed oil, there is another heat exchanger for the reaction oil and the light fraction oil. I’ve also seen a water injection point after air cooling in the past. . .
The salt crystallization temperature is approximately 150–170; the water injection point should be selected based on the actual conditions of the installation. But generally, the design institute has already done the calculations
Generally, water is injected before and after the heat exchanger in the cold high-pressure air cooling process; this injection ensures that 20% of the mixture is water after vaporization. It can also be calculated based on the percentage of feed material, as long as the ammonium salts do not crystallize.
