What is the difference between welding electrodes with J and those without J in special equipment welding projects?

I only know that electrodes with a J indicate alkaline electrodes, while those without a J are acidic. What are the differences between the two, and can they be used interchangeably?

Wrong; J does not refer to an alkaline welding rod, but rather to the concept of a structural steel welding rod. For example, although J507 and J422 have the same letters, the former J507 is an alkaline welding rod, while the latter J422 is an acidic welding rod.
Alkaline welding electrodes, acidic welding electrodes. If the strength grade meets the requirements, the former can replace the latter; for example, J427 can replace j422. However, the latter cannot replace the former. In pipeline and vessel welding, J507 and J427 should be used instead of J422
