Is there any calculation for pipe deflection in CAESARII? If so, is it displacement?
The vertical displacement (usually Y) under SUS conditions is used to examine deflection.
Generally, a NODE is placed in the middle of the longer span, and then the vertical displacement under SUS conditions is checked. As for what the allowable vertical displacement should be, it depends on the stress analysis specifications for each project.
Is the deflection being considered the one in 50316?
