Cardboard possesses environmental benefits in terms of being recyclable, and its use in everyday life is increasing; many product packages are made from cardboard. To ensure that the quality of the products is not compromised, it is necessary to maintain strict quality control over cardboard, so as to prevent damage to the items inside the boxes. The design and manufacturing of cardboard boxes rely heavily on precise dimensions; any errors can result in defective boxes, leading to economic losses. 2. Poor print quality of the layout: When printing on the surface of cardboard boxes, text and numbers are usually used the most, and it’s easy to encounter issues such as uneven arrangement of letters and numbers, inconsistent sizes, misalignment up and down, and other defects. If these problems are not corrected in a timely manner through proper layout verification and error correction, the products will be released onto the market with quality issues, resulting in the entire batch of cardboard boxes being discarded. High-quality printing paperboard, on the other hand, ensures a good overall appearance of the products, which in turn earns positive feedback from customers. 3. Tear in the flap of the carton The folding resistance of the carton’s flap is an important indicator of its quality; customers have very strict requirements in terms of this aspect. The flap must be folded 180 degrees inward and outward five times, with no cracking occurring in either the inner or outer layers of paper. 4. The cardboard becomes soft, bubbly, and uneven. Several specific measures to improve the quality of cardboard used in cartons: 1. Ensure high quality of raw materials. A large part of product quality depends on the quality of the raw and auxiliary materials used. Raw materials are key to quality control; it is necessary to establish a testing system for raw materials upon their arrival, keep proper records, and effectively prevent substandard raw materials from entering the production process. 2. Essential testing methods should include: 1) Thoroughly conducting quality self-inspections at each stage of production to prevent the occurrence of various quality issues to the greatest extent possible. To determine the quality of cardboard boxes, one cannot rely on experience; instead, science and the necessary testing instruments and equipment are required. 2) The moisture content of raw materials, paper basis weight, the instruments required for testing; measuring tools such as rulers, inner diameter gauges, and thickness gauges needed to inspect the appearance of cartons; 4 cups for testing viscosity, a pH meter, tools for measuring puncture strength, and other testing equipment are all necessary in order to ensure quality control throughout the entire process.
