If the tower diameter is large, the bottom plate functions as a distributor, and the efficiency of this plate is very low

Alternatively, a straight pipe can be used, with a square groove cut into it; the area of this groove should be larger than the diameter of the pipe. The purpose of providing square grooves at the bottom of the straight tubes is to prevent plate impact; generally, the pressure of the gas coming out of the reboiler has already been reduced, and it is not direct steam.
