Selecting an appropriate desulfurization process: Determine the basic parameters of the process, such as flue gas flow rate, temperature, sulfur dioxide content, dust content, desulfurization efficiency, and flue gas exit temperature. Choose a desulfurization process based on factors such as equipment investment, environmental regulations, impact on the environment, wastewater discharge, land required for ash storage, surrounding ecological environment, system footprint and layout requirements, source and utilization rate of absorbents, water supply issues, electricity consumption of the desulfurization system, sulfur content in coal, treatment and utilization of desulfurization residues, condition of existing equipment, boilers, ash collection and treatment systems, fans, chimneys, etc., as well as the adaptability and impact on the operation of the power unit, and the maturity level of the process.

It is essential to fully understand the characteristics of various desulfurization processes; currently, only a few of them are widely used in China. The choice of process depends on factors such as the type of fuel, flue gas volume, emission temperature, sulfur content, emission standards, and the total expected investment.
