Our company has a process that involves a salt-acid reaction; as a by-product of this reaction, salt, acidic gases, and some ester gases are produced. Even after using two stages of liquid alkali absorption, smoking still occurs. The smoke is neutral in nature. Could anyone help analyze what could be the cause? How to solve it (fan component: 12,000; tower diameter: 1.8 meters)

No, it’s probably some kind of ester gas; I don’t know what it is, nor do I know how to detect it Please advise on any methods.
Do you have a laboratory? If not, could we take samples and find a place with the necessary facilities to help with the testing and analysis? It shouldn’t be difficult, right?
If it’s an ester, could it be that the gas velocity in the absorption tower is too high?

Smoke and fog should be discussed separately. . Smoke indicates that your exhaust gases contain particulates (esters can be considered as the fumes generated during cooking), while mist suggests the presence of saturated water; it goes without saying that two-stage washing inherently involves saturated water. The company in question doesn’t carry out thorough enough work; there is no proper analysis of smoke and mist, such as PM2.5 levels, water content, HCl, and so on. If you yourself are confused about these things, how can you expect others to be able to help you? ? For waste gas consisting of esters and HCl acid mist, a reasonable treatment process is electrostatic demisting and oil removal, followed by water washing to remove the acid mist. Of course, the results won’t be good if you’re missing a step!
