Can a catalytic combustion type combustible gas detector measure several types of combustible gases at the same time? How is this detector calibrated? For example, I previously specified that the combustible gas should be CH4; now that I have this gauge and the conditions on site have changed to include both CH4 and H2, can this detector still be used? Is it necessary to return to the factory or perform calibration on-site?
It seems to be universal; I asked the manufacturer and the calibration institute before

I am the manufacturer! I can assure you that gas detectors are capable of detecting all flammable gases. The difference lies in the sensitivity and the corresponding time. If your factory’s requirements are not that strict and it is necessary to follow the specifications, then there is no need for recalibration at the factory, as the default alarm thresholds for methane and hydrogen (for flammability testing) are both 25% LEL to 50% LEL. Of course, we generally do not recommend testing the flammability of hydrogen.

The manufacturers upstairs supply counterfeited products; that’s not acceptable. Although they are all of the catalytic combustion type, the sensors differ. For general combustible gases, broadband sensors are used, while hydrogen requires specialized sensors
