As the title suggests, black impurities were found during diesel sampling; these could be attracted by a magnet, so they are likely ferrous sulfide. No such impurities were detected when samples were taken from the low-grade oil – what could be the reason for this? Let’s discuss it together
The vent tower for removing hydrogen sulfide experiences severe vibration in the pipeline carrying the refined diesel oil from the distillation tower; this can lead to problems at the pump inlet filters, as some particles cannot be filtered out~~~
First, check whether your sampling is accurate; examine the sampling process to see if the replacement was thorough, and whether there are any areas that weren’t cleaned properly. Over time, corrosion and rust will naturally occur. This situation often occurs when several of our new comrades take samples.
Is the installation starting anew? Replace it properly

I have operated two sets of hydrogenation units, and I have never encountered the situation you mentioned. At the beginning of operation, unqualified products are usually sent to waste. Moreover, once normal operation is achieved, iron ion analysis is carried out on the acidic water. In a situation like yours, it can no longer be called iron ions; it should rather be referred to as iron particles.
It is not ruled out that the distillation tower, heat exchangers, pipelines, and diesel pumps are severely corroded
