Environmental regulations are becoming increasingly strict; wastewater is not allowed to contain oil. However, the tar present in coke oven gas and the lubricating oil from engine cylinders are both discharged into the wastewater tank through separators. Now it is required that the oil be completely separated. Does anyone have any good methods for this?
This requires the addition of separation equipment to meet the requirements; generally, it is sent to a sewage treatment plant for processing
Our local wastewater treatment plant doesn’t accept it
I’m not from the coking industry. First, install an oil separator to recover the organic materials that float on the surface of the water; those that are dissolved in the water can be recovered through extraction or distillation methods, and then sent to the biological treatment tank for further processing.
What were the considerations of the design team when they first designed the device? I should ask them; the compressor manufacturers, regardless of the process, probably don’t understand it either
Install an oil-water separator; many large compressors are equipped with this device
We have been in production for 5 years; this requirement wasn’t specified during the initial design phase – the oil separator was only meant for temporary storage of wastewater. Now, however, such a requirement exists
Let the process engineering team consider this issue
I guess consulting services will still be provided; ask the design firm – there aren’t many experts in mechanical engineering and related processes here
It’s not easy to separate them. This is the simplest oil-water separation method using an oil separator, but there’s still a large amount of oil in the waste liquid. I send the remaining liquid to an asphalt clarification tank;
