What is the purpose of returning a stream of crude methanol from the saturated tower top in methanol synthesis?

In the Davy methanol synthesis process (using natural gas as raw material), the natural gas is processed and then fed into a saturation tower; after carrying steam with it, it enters the reforming reaction system to produce syngas. At the top of the saturated tower, there is a stream of crude methanol reflux coming from the bottom of the methanol distillation tower (with a methanol concentration of around 65%). What is the purpose of this reflux?
