What method is used to determine the moisture content in zinc sulfate heptahydrate? Can it be done using a vacuum dryer?
If it’s not a strict precision analysis, it’s sufficient to roast the sample and then examine the weight loss. For precise analysis, a dedicated moisture analyzer is required.
Zinc sulfate heptahydrate cannot be baked directly, as it will lose its crystal water. It’s not a matter of whether it’s precise or not; it’s a matter of the method used. If it could be done directly, I wouldn’t have posted this. . . . .
