Issues related to Linde cryogenic methanol washing

The bottom part is divided into two sections for the following reasons: 1) In the side of the reboiler (the hot zone), the methanol is exposed to high temperatures due to the reboiler tubes, which causes the metal carbonyl compounds present in it to decompose into solids; as a result, the methanol in this area becomes dirty； 2) In the hot zone, methanol has a higher water content due to high evaporation rates, compared to the other side ； In this way, the methanol in the hot zone can be extracted and filtered, with part of it sent to a methanol-water separation tower for dehydration, thereby ensuring better control over the water content and purity of the recycled methanol. The function of the connecting pipeline outside the tower between the hot and cold zones at the bottom of the tower is as follows: The bottom of the tower is divided into two halves by steel plates, with one half being the hot zone and the other half the cold zone. In the hot zone, methanol liquid vaporizes in the reboiler, causing the liquid level to drop. To prevent this level from falling, a pipeline is connected from the cold zone to supply methanol liquid from there.
