Is it unrealistic to try to create a process package with just one or two people’s efforts?

For a new company that has only conducted laboratory tests for a few months, the idea of developing a complete process package seems a bit unrealistic – can really one or two employees with a few years of design experience within the company manage to create such a process package?
The key question is what needs to be done. Here too, we first carry out pilot tests and then move on to pilot-scale production; as a result, all the process pipelines, valves, and electrical components are handed over to our manufacturing partners for fabrication. We deal with water-based and oil-based pressure-sensitive adhesives.
It’s not impossible, but it’s difficult. There is too much to do: basic design, equipment design, piping design, process design, electrical design, safety facility design, environmental protection facility design, fitting configuration, laboratory setup, warehouse layout, and so on.
It depends on which process package. Some mature and simple processes can be carried out by a single person. Just like the process of turning water into oil back then, which was carried out by Wang Hongcheng alone, he also deceived many people. But if Zhen is to develop a process package for ethylene, oil refining, or gasification, one or two people certainly won’t be enough, and even ten to twenty people might not suffice.
It’s not a fantasy; the key is to see whether those one or two people are truly outstanding, and also the difficulty of the project itself as well as the time required play a role in this
It depends on the production scale; for small products with an annual output of dozens of tons or a hundred or so tons, one or two people can easily handle the production.
