How to remove an oil finger blockage at the tip of a burette?
After heating slightly, the grease melts, and it is blown out using an ear bulb.
First of all, don’t apply too much grease to the plug; in fact, a thin layer is sufficient. If grease gets into the tip of the burette, a small amount of hot water can be poured into the burette; then the stopcock can be turned open to try to flush out the grease with the hot water. If that doesn’t work, simply remove the plug and clean it.
Heat it in a beaker, and it will melt
Use an ear syringe to suck in water and then blow out; if it’s just oil that has heated up and moved there, it can be blown out as well!
Scald the sharp tip with hot water; the pressure of the liquid from the burette can then be used to push the vaseline oil out
If it’s blocked by vacuum silicone grease, it seems like heat melting won’t work
