Pickling and passivation method

The equipment is made of stainless steel and requires pickling and passivation. Due to the limited internal space of the equipment, it is not possible to apply passivation paste for safety reasons. Environmental impact assessments do not approve the use of immersion methods; therefore, would it be feasible to use a pump to deliver acid solution through garden sprinklers as an alternative to applying passivation paste? Have fellow sailors encountered this kind of problem? How to deal with it?
For the stainless steel tanks we used to make, since people couldn’t get inside, we would pour the diluted acid into them, then seal the equipment and turn it upside down, and finally pour out the acid.
If conditions permit, perfusion immersion is a viable option; the key is to ensure environmental protection by preventing the use of acid tanks
