What is a backseam? When is a back seal weld needed? Does TIG welding for the root pass count as a backing weld?

It generally refers to the first weld laid at the bottom of a weld seam; TIG welding for the root pass falls under this category. However, the term \"sealant weld\" is not a standard expression, and its use in formal documents should be approached with caution. Just as some workshops abbreviate shielded metal arc welding as \"electric welding,\" if others interpret \"electric welding\" as arc welding, it can lead to disputes, especially during conflicts.
