Hi Haiyou. We specialize in low-temperature pipelines, and the insulation material we use is PIR. I would like to ask how PIR can be foamed during construction in the northeastern region during winter

PIR insulation materials find it difficult to expand due to the temperature and humidity conditions at the installation site during winter; even if expansion is possible after taking certain measures, the quality of the expansion will be poor. It is recommended to use PIR insulation materials that have been pre-manufactured in factories for insulation purposes, or to opt for rubber-plastic insulation materials. The most commonly used rubber-plastic insulation materials in China are those produced by the German company Ales and the Italian company Fullex – both of these materials can withstand temperatures as low as -200°C. Compared to traditional PIR and foam glass materials, they result in less heat loss and have a longer service life. Moreover, they are very easy to install and maintain, especially for complex-shaped components. However, their cost is higher than that of PIR materials. Currently, companies such as CNPC, Sinopec, China Resources, Honghua Gas, Huaqi Houpu, Chuan Kong, Hangyang, and Air Liquide use these materials.
