I’ve recently learned about the specifications regarding hydrogen sulfide levels at the inlet of hydrogenation reactors. Some people say that there’s no need to control hydrogen sulfide specifically, only the total sulfur content; others claim that it’s necessary to keep hydrogen sulfide levels above 5 mg. I’m not sure if your plant controls this parameter. Let’s discuss together – is it really necessary to control it, and if so, what should the target level be? It would be best to talk about one’s own understanding and the reasons behind it. Sigh~ The more I do it, the more confused I get!

Do you mean the hydrogenation reactor for sulfur recovery? If the sulfur production system ahead is well controlled, there is no need to control the hydrogen sulfide levels at the inlet of the hydrogenation reactor behind it.
I didn’t make it clear; we are a plant that produces LNG from coke oven gas, and we need to reduce the total sulfur content at the inlet of the methanation reactor to as low as possible.
