How to remove organic matter from the decarburization solution quickly and effectively?

Gentlemen, my 200,000-ton synthetic ammonia decarburization plant uses the Benfield process for decarburization. Due to long-term neglect in the operation and maintenance of the decarburization system, there is now a large amount of organic matter in the system’s solution, resulting in severe foaming – the foam height reaches up to 19 cm. If no defoamer is used, the CO2 emissions will increase, severely affecting the normal operation of the system. Currently, we use activated carbon filters to remove organic substances from the solution, but the effect is not very significant. I was wondering if there are any better or faster methods to remove the organic substances from the solution?
It’s not that the effect is subtle; rather, it takes time.
