An integrated bimetallic thermometer is installed in a distillation tower; is it necessary to install a sleeve on top of the distillation tower to protect the integrated bimetallic thermometer?
It is of course better to use a protective sleeve; a core-extracting bimetallic thermometer facilitates subsequent maintenance.
The thermometers used in towers are generally designed with external flange sleeves to facilitate maintenance and ensure safety.
Adding sleeves to the instruments makes it easier to replace them in the future; the sleeves also enhance safety, though they result in a slower thermal response. I’m from the manufacturer, haha
Temperature sensing elements in most application scenarios require protective sleeves.
I suggest that a protective tube can be added without affecting the accuracy of temperature measurement; however, if not using such a tube accelerates the damage to the bimetallic element, then it is necessary to use one!
Using a sleeve makes it safer, and its service life should be longer.
The diameter of the casing is usually specified by the instrument manufacturer; the on-site construction team is responsible for manufacturing it themselves
It depends on your pressure level; generally, for normal applications we use φ16*2, while for higher pressures we use φ22*3
It’s best to add that 1 is for easy replacement, and 2 is to prevent leaks
