1. Long-distance pipeline (approximately 5 km), with a relatively large diameter, but less than 600; purged with air. Question: Due to the large elevation differences along the entire length of the pipeline, is it necessary to purge it in sections before ascending? 2. Pressure needs to be applied in stages; otherwise, it won’t be sufficient. For long-distance pipelines, dredging is also taken into consideration, using pigging devices with scrapers.
1. Purging should be carried out in segments, with special attention paid to the areas with elbows. 2. For such long-distance pipelines, measures for dredging must be taken into account during design; dredging holes should be provided to facilitate cleaning during maintenance.
