Briefly describe the tasks and objectives of environmental quality assessment.
The task of environmental quality assessment is to, based on a large amount of testing data and investigation results, use specific evaluation standards and methods to explain, determine, and predict the extent to which human activities affect human health, ecosystems, and the environment within a given area. The basic purpose of environmental quality assessment is to provide a basis for environmental management and planning. It also serves to compare the degree of pollution in different regions, thereby enabling the control, protection, utilization, and improvement of environmental quality to ensure it is suitable for human survival and development.
