The recycling of flue gas desulfurization using manganese slag is a new process and technology. Flue gas containing SO2 is introduced into desulfurization equipment where it comes into full contact with pyrolusite slurry, thereby removing SO2 from the flue gas; at the same time, the main component of pyrolusite, MnO2, is converted into MnSO4. This method enables the recovery of sulfur from flue gas in the form of valuable inorganic products such as manganese sulfate or electrolytic manganese metal, thereby **reducing costs**.
Only small-scale devices are possible; the technical challenge lies not in desulfurization but in overall integration issues
Guizhou Hongxing Development Dalong Manganese Industry Co., Ltd. has independently developed a technology for producing high-purity manganese sulfate specifically for lithium manganate, using the flue gas desulfurization and reduction method with pyrolusite. After numerous experiments, it was confirmed that this method is stable and feasible; it has also been recognized by **authoritative agencies. Following the application for a patent, Guizhou Hongxing Development Dalong Manganese Industry Co., Ltd. decided to upgrade the existing desulfurization facilities for boiler flue gas, hydrogen sulfide-containing flue gas, and barium carbonate converter flue gas on its premises, in order to use sulfur dioxide present in these flue gases to produce high-purity manganese sulfate.
