I would like to ask whether a pressure-rated storage tank (or a tank with a volume exceeding a certain threshold) must be equipped with two sets of level measurement instruments, and whether the measurement principles of these two sets must be different.
You can’t say that. One set is used to measure liquid level, informing managers of the amount present ; One set is used to detect high and low liquid levels, in order to trigger the shutdown of valves and pumps; these are what are commonly referred to as level switches. Two sets are needed because the purposes are different.
If you explain it this way, it will be understandable. Previously, experts who inspected the reservoir area raised the issues I just mentioned. At present, in our company’s atmospheric pressure storage tanks, in addition to the level gauges used to measure the storage volume, there are also level switches equipped with high-level interlock functions. Such a setup should meet the standards, right?

Which do you think is more reliable: a watch that displays the time locally and also transmits it over distance, or a combination of a remote-display watch and a local-display watch?
If there’s a guarantee, then of course there’s no need to say anything. Wouldn’t it be great if it could meet the regulatory requirements while also being cost-effective?
Generally, two liquid level measurement systems based on different principles are required to ensure a higher safety factor in case one of them fails or malfunctions. Additionally, they can also be referenced and compared with each other. As for cost-effectiveness, a simple and durable float can be chosen on-site. Choose a better type for long-distance transmission.
