As a beginner in the chemical industry, I would like to seek advice from those with more experience in this field: Is it feasible to mix dimethyl ether into diesel? I hope those with more experience can offer some guidance. 1: Dimethyl ether is denser than diesel; therefore, I wonder if the mixture will separate into layers after mixing 2: Dimethyl ether has a high octane rating (polyoxymethylene dimethyl ether), but its calorific value is much lower than that of diesel. What impact does mixing it with diesel have on the calorific value? 3: What is the effect of adding dimethyl ether to diesel on diesel engines? 4: Other matters not covered. What I know is that dimethyl ether contains no pollutants such as sulfur or NOx, and it can reduce environmental pollution.
