I am doing tower simulations using Hysys version 8.4. I noticed a really frustrating problem. Follow the examples in the book step by step; there will be no problems and convergence will occur. I added a new Specs and removed the original one, and it stopped converging. So I pressed Stop, then reset; waited a few seconds, removed my original Specs, restored the original Specs, and then pressed Run. Something strange happened: it stopped converging. It wouldn’t converge, no matter what... If I delete this tower and rebuild it, then run it again, it does converge. But if I change the Specs, it stops converging; and if I go back to the original Specs, it still doesn’t converge. I’ve tried it N times, and it happens the same way every time; it’s crashing....... I wonder, where is the problem usually?
There are many reasons why the tower does not converge; try deleting the newly defined Specs.
At that time, because the initial conditions of the tower changed, try changing it back to the original specifications and re-initialize the simulation, then run it again
That’s right, I guess that’s the reason too. But I clicked Reset, didn’t I? And where exactly should the Simulation be re-initialized? I don’t see this button in my Hysys 8.4.
In HYSYS, double-clicking on the tower displays a Reset button; click this button before running
Oh, if that’s the case, the problem still isn’t solved. I already mentioned in the question that I clicked Reset. That’s the problem: even after clicking Reset, it still doesn’t converge.
Could you send it to me to take a look? . . . .
