The gas collection pipeline has a nominal diameter of DN50 and a design pressure of 21 MPa; the levels of carbon dioxide and chloride ions are very high. What type of pipe material would be suitable?
Using these two together still poses a problem; both of them can resist chloride ions. Materials such as 00Cr16Ni6Mo3Cu1N and 00Cr26Ni6Mo4CuTiAl are used in such cases. Generally, using these two together accelerates corrosion. MO317 can also be used, along with other corrosion inhibitors
In the past, for such applications carbon steel pipes combined with corrosion inhibitors were used. However, the client strongly recommended flexible composite high-pressure pipes, as they are resistant to pressure and corrosion. But since there was no prior experience with their use, we didn’t dare to adopt them outright, which is why we were hesitant
