When I’m at the site and see two types of wires, JG-56 and CHG-S5, how can I tell what kind of welding rods and wires they are? E5015 is the model of the welding rod, not its grade; J422 is the grade of the welding rod. One model can correspond to several grades – for example, E4315 has two grades: J422 and J427. The J507 grade corresponds to E5015; JG-56 refers to TIG welding wire, while CHG-S5 is a stainless steel welding wire produced in the Atlantic region. Markings are present on both the welding end of the electrode and the end of the welding wire. The welding rod is marked with ink, while the welding wire has a steel stamp. You can specifically ask Baidu for help.
For example, with JG-56 as you mentioned, if you come into frequent contact with it you might know that it is an TIG welding wire; but if I saw it for the first time, how would I know what its model or grade is? What does JG stand for?
For this, you’ll need to check the manual, as well as the manufacturer’s product catalog or something similar; or just spend some time on the construction site and that will do. There is no other way.

The grades are determined by the manufacturers themselves, and they can vary greatly, but the numerical part is usually the same
