After over 10 years of specializing in the production of gas valve assemblies, I still don’t understand why so many people in the market prefer forged steel materials these days For cast-iron parts: is the valve assembly really going to be phased out of the market?
I really don’t know. We purchased 15 compressors this year, from Shenyang Yuanda. According to them, the economy is poor these days, and many manufacturers can only manage to keep production going; there’s no talk of making profits at all! The situation is not optimistic.
The air valves made of cast iron are not particularly ideal; although they offer a significant price advantage, they are inferior to those made of forged steel in terms of operational lifespan and subsequent grinding and repair needs. If any are available, they are only used in the low-pressure section. A few years ago, we stopped using air valves made of cast iron, mainly because when problems arose, such valves tended to break and fall into the cylinder, leading to equipment failures.

If a cast-iron valve assembly breaks to such an extent, it can only mean that an inferior product was purchased. A qualified product is one that, after being used for a certain period of time, becomes unusable due to the spring becoming stiff and being unable to release gas under pressure differences. Generally, the breaking of cast iron parts is due to problems with the valve discs and substandard cast iron quality. I have seen before cases where, due to substandard quality of the valve disc, a corner of the forged steel valve body was cracked. So, cast iron parts that meet quality standards are still very practical

Yes, it refers to the valve seat and valve cover of the gas valve, that is, the material of the valve body
