How is vacuum level expressed in millimeters of mercury?

To measure the vacuum level in a container using a single-flange pressure transmitter, it is required to first express the value in absolute pressure and then in millimeters of mercury. How should this be done? First, use a single-flange pressure transducer to measure the negative pressure (i.e., vacuum level) in the container, which gives a value of XXX - Kpa; then convert this value to absolute pressure, resulting in XXX Kpa; and finally, convert that absolute pressure value into millimeters of mercury?
There seems to be some issue with using a diaphragm for this.
