As the title suggests: Are there any specific regulations regarding the qualifications of personnel involved in non-destructive testing and their corresponding scope of work? For example, whether personnel with level 1 ultrasound qualifications need to work under the supervision and guidance of personnel with level 2 qualifications.
TSG Z8001-2013 Please read these rules
Article 9 of the TSG Z8001-2013 \"New Examination Regulations\" stipulates that Level II inspection personnel shall possess the following capabilities: (1) To carry out or supervise the work of Level I inspection personnel； In practical applications, discrepancies can sometimes arise. It is generally believed that methods such as ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle testing, and penetrant testing involve relatively few items for which objective physical evidence can be retained; therefore, personnel with level 1 qualifications must carry out on-site work under the supervision and guidance of personnel with level 2 qualifications. In contrast, with radiographic inspection, since there is a film as an objective record, personnel at the second level can supervise the work of those at the first level by examining the films afterward; it is not necessary for personnel at the second level to be on-site to carry out supervision. However, some supervisors require that when level-1 personnel take photos on-site under this rule, level-2 personnel must also be present. This is a difference in the understanding of what supervision means.
In fact, UT Level I can only perform auxiliary tasks. . . For this auxiliary work, it is not necessary to have Level II personnel supervising it. The rules also specify that Level II is required to have the capability to supervise Level I
